Kayak and SUP in Metung

Metung, situated on the peninsula of the Bancroft Bay and Lake King  is a great place to go kayaking or stand up paddle boarding. Take in the beautiful scenery and spend quality time with your friends and family while having the perfect day on the water.

Whether you want to take in the sights of the local lakes and rivers, see the wild life (dolphins, pelicans, seals, swans and more) or try your hand at fishing this is a great way to get out and experience the lake system.

If you don’t have access to your own equipment there are plenty of options to hire, although a limited number actually located in Metung.

Riveria Nautic

Available for hire is a double kayak. The kayak can be hired for a minimum of 1 hour, half days or full days.

Limits on how far you can go in the kayak applies, for safety reasons. From Chinaman’s Creek, where the pick up and drop off of the kayak hire is, there are two creeks to explore, Bancroft Bay, where you can paddle around to Metung Village, over to Silvershot Jetty for a nice walk, or around towards Nungurner.

The kayak has a dry hold locker where you can pack a few items; a drink bottle, small picnic lunch and a camera perhaps.
